But for me baseball is the perfect game. There is no doubt that the NFL is king in this country. Baseball might be raking in record profits, but football is number one. But c'mon, it takes minimal effort to be a football fan. 16 days out of the year, plus the playoffs and draft day. So let's say 20 days out of the year is the minimum it takes to be a football fan. Filling ones time reading the arrests during the week, or only caring about football because of your fantasy team is all well and good. But as exciting as football, college or the NFL, can be. It pales in comparison to baseball.

Where did that diatribe come from? It's merely the product of the off season.

Now I'm a baseball addict, but not the "hot stove" variety. I've never been big on staying up to date and breaking down the latest rumors. I'll be MORE than happy to comment on a signing, trade or other roster adjustment when it happens, but until then I'll stay quiet. As I have here for the past few weeks. When it does, I'll pop in and spout my two cents.
Third baseman Ray Knight makes amends for an earlier error by hitting a home run which puts the Mets ahead for good in the seventh inning.

2004: Under the moon's reddish tint caused by a lunar eclipse, the Red Sox exorcised 86 year of agonizing losses by winning their first World Series since

1918. In one of the most dominating Fall Classic performances, Boston, who never trailed during the four games, blank the Cardinals, 3-0, to complete the sweep.

2007: In the first Fall Classic game ever played in Colorado, Daisuke Matsuzaka becomes the first Japanese starting pitcher in World Series history, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits in 5.1 innings, to get the win against the Rockies in the 10-5 Red Sox Game 3 victory. After paying $51.1 million for the rights to negotiate with the right-hander, Boston obtained 'Dice-K' from the Seibu Lions signing the World Baseball Classic MVP to a 6-year deal worth $52 million.

It's just that easy.

Now will Theo undoubtedly exact opposite of what I'd hope they'll do? Of course, but that's why he's one of the best general managers in baseball and I'm a scrub with a keyboard. Next up I'll throw the free agent names I would love to see the Red Sox go after, and legitimately get.
